Gem City Vet: A low-cost nonprofit clinic
Gem City Vet is a nonprofit clinic created by Gem City Kitties to help Dayton, Ohio become a no-kill community. We are now offering low-cost wellness services to pets in low-income families and will expand to add spay/neuter services as we grow.
SERVICES OFFERED
We are open every Sunday, excluding holidays. We offer the following wellness services:
Exams
Vaccines
Preventatives for heartworm, fleas, and ticks
Testing for heartworm and FeLV/FIV
Microchips
Treatment and medication for common medical issues such as: ear infections, ear mites, and mange.
Diagnostics such as: urinalysis, fecal analysis, and bloodwork.
Please ensure you meet our income criteria, online here. We accept walk-ins on Sunday from 9am - noon & 2pm - 4pm. Clients with appointments are given priority.

NOW OFFERING: MICROCHIP ONLY FOR $14
No appointment needed! Walk in any time during our open hours to get a microchip for $14. This is a quick service and won’t include an exam by our veterinarian. If you’d like to have your pet seen, book an appointment online here.
HOURS & LOCATION
We are located at 5941 Wolf Creek Pike, Trotwood, OH 45426 at the intersection of Wolf Creek Pike and Olive. Our parking lot is next door to Om Oil.

As a new, grassroots nonprofit, we’re able to work quickly and build our programs extremely efficiently.
Since opening in January of 2018, in partnership with Gem City Catfe, we have adopted over 1000 cats to loving homes, educated thousands of Daytonians on best practices for cat care, and trained over 100 community members on how to help solve this problem at a local level.
